I can`t understand how M.A.F.F. and The Welsh Assembly officials /leaders can sleep at night, knowing that they have condemned our animals in this area to certain death,by dumping contaminated carcasses on Eppynt Range.

MAFF & the Welsh Assembly have threatened, by their total incompetence to wipe out the whole of south Wales. This site MUST NOT be used.

WELL DONE!! KEEP IT UP BUT ITHINK THERE SHOULD BE MORE POSITIVE PUBLICITY TOWARDS THE MOVEMENT AND THEREFO-RE CREATING MORE OF A FOLLOWING WITH THOSE WHO LIVE IN TOWNS AND CITIES AND DONOT UNDERSTAND THE CURRE-NT POINT OF VIEW OF SENNY-BRIDGE AND THECASTLE FARMERS. I'LL BE IN TRECASTLE TO SHOW MY SUPPORT AGAIN TOMORROW!

I think it is disgusting that these animals, clean or unclean, are being brought into a clean area. Why cant they be burnt and buried on the site where they came from?

Thursday, April 5, 2001 at 20:31
You have my support i can not under stand the Government reason behind this.

This action just fills me with absolute horror, I cannot believe that the Government see fit to bring contaminated carcasses into this area which has been kept free of the disease. How can this make sense???
It shows how little they know, don't the government know that if the grazing sheep on Epynt have to be culled, they can't just be replaced? It takes generations of breeding to maintain boudries. My heart aches for the Farmers, PLEASE DON'T DO THIS. My family have a private water supply which water from the Epynt enters, how can I be sure my water will not be contaminated???

INFECTED ANIMALS/CARCASSES SHOULD BE KEPT ON INFECTED LAND!!!NOT TAKEN ONTO CLEAN LAND.THE GOVERNMENT NEED TO WAKE UP AND SEE WHERE THE'RE GOING WRONG!!

I've had an e-mail from Christine Gwyther & a phone call from Plaid Cymru's Rhodri Glyn Thomas, who have both promised to put pressure on Carwyn Jones.
All leaflets distributed in Farmers co-op Llandovery, Llangadog, Llandeilo, plus through letterboxes, in pubs, shops etc...There seems to be an excellant response to them in our area. If only the carcases hadnt arrived, we would have a huge protest this weekend.
Well done, you have worked so hard.

Green Party PPC, Henley on Thames.
The mass slaughter program is a disaster & it has yet to be proven to work. So far it appears to be an abject failure. The answer is vaccination & local food production for local consumption. The international trade in live animals for slaughter should be stopped

I can't understand how the government can bring infected carcasses into an unifected area. What will this do to my sheep and cattle and to the cost of my land.

Thursday, April 5, 2001 at 11:31
There is nothing that anyone can say to make this crisis any more bearable. However, why put at jeopardy even more uninfected livestock, pollute the environment and risk even more jobs and livelihoods, unncecessarily.

I'm a bit like Alice of the Vicar of Dibley - but don't kill all the cute little fluffy animals

Thursday, April 5, 2001 at 11:23
Keep up the good work boyz!!!!

This action does not surprise me at all. When it comes to governments common sense goes out the window. It terrifies me to think of the things they get away with without out knowledge. I hope you get a huge response to this plea. As an Australian it may not effect me directly, but as a human being it makes me sick.

Another big mistake by MAFF just yesterday they were digging up some previously buried animals because they were polluting a water supply

Thursday, April 5, 2001 at 09:08
please let us know of any actions. we have contacted our AM and environmental groups in Wales and directed them to this site. People need to know what they can do.

From a local country bumpking People from authority have been cheating and telling us lies Tony Blear is playing a political game The army are treating us all like squaddys The police are treating us like thugs But all us country bumpkings are trying to stop the filth and pollution travelling along our clean roadsand then being dumped and buried on our mountains to pollute our waterways, streams, rivers, valleys, towns and citys All we are trying to do is look after the future of our children and generation to come From a totally gutted country bumpking
