One can only ask WHY?? Why bring infected animals into a hitherto uninfected area - do we wish to spread this desease all over the country, rather than take steps to eradicate. AND why move infected animals over long distances for burning, which has been pointed out in the 1967 report, is NOT an effective way of controlling the dis-ease.

I only wish that there was something that could be done to stop the dumping on the epynt, but the ground is owned by the government and you are fighting people who are alaw unto themselves. I believe that this is their way of making sure that the whole of Wales get F&M not just the unfortunate 3 counties that already have it.In my opinion the gov do not want farmers, they obviously think they do not need farmers, and they think that farmers cost to much to keep. They will not be happy until tourism is the only industry left in Wales..............

I own a stretch of the River Usk, near Talybont. It has some very good fishing and is one of the best Wild Trout Rivers in the U.K. I do not wish to have the fishing destroyed. Should the Environment Agency not be opposing this dumping, burning and burying -if it is going to affect the Rivers? What is our MP doing to help?

Keep up all the good work. Great to have updated, truthful comments on the awful circumstances we find ourselves in at present. Will visit this site regularly from now on.

Wake Up Carwyn or get your defence ready

No walking/rambling/ picnicing/cycling/ admiring the view! - You'll compromise the National Park's disease-free status.
Dumping of diseased carcasses? That'll be fine (as long as you don't walk/ramble/picnic/cycle/admire the view!)

Am right behind you all, as are many many more people in this area. We are "making a nuisance" of ourselves around TIrabad!

MAFF and the assembly have 'labelled' this clean area as dirty for the Labour party to get an early election. South Powys and Dyfed are a calculated sacrifice. Carwyn Jones, you are no welshman, you are a Labour man. Resign now, we will never forgive or forget.

Vaccination is necessary. The environmental impacts and the police presence are highly disturbing. Why were disposal issues not considered before the mass cull started?

Saturday, April 7, 2001 at 10:41
Stop the senseless slaughter! MAFF must stop moving animals dead or alive around the country spreading the disease. VACCINATE NOW with no culling policy.

We need to work on reestablishing diverse and balanced ecosystem where animals and plants can have access to their "original diet " the one that is genetically adapted to the species. In that conditions "diseases" are part of the web of life and don't require interventions from humans because none will become overwhelming and threatening to any species .Foot and mouth disease has always been part of cows and sheep ecology and had become problematic because of their present unatural diet .
