The 400 metre long, 3 metre high and 10 metre wide pile of ash on Epynt is to be left for a week to cool down before being removed. It would be interesting to know what measures have been taken to prevent to ash scattering in the event of a high wind on the top of Epynt which frequently occurs.

I was 8 years old when the first F/M started and I thought I would never see such a thing again. I now live in Brecon and some nights can smell the burnning but from where i do not know, but it is disguisting. What they have done is wrong and what they are doing is wrong.........they are still delivering and burning on the Epynt. The soldiers are now back on the ranges playing soldiers and paratroopers are jumping out of planes near the pyre....Where is the logic in all of this..

Dear All - received a call today(anonymous) accusing the B and R of ignoring the Epynt and saying that the paper seems to have its 'own agenda' on the whole sorry mess. I'm sorry if any of you feel that way but we have limited resources at the paper and have done our best to give you as much coverage as we can. We have two thousand square miles to cover and have to be as fair as we can to everyone. Please keep in touch and let us know of the developments as they happen. Photographs are always a help. Many thanks

I have today been informed that people working on the Eppynt for Greyhound plant claim that there is no qualified supervision and that some machines are being left running all day with no driver on them to claim their hire charges fraudulently. The general consensus of opinion is that once again tha assembly has wasted huge amounts of tax payers money to little or no benefit.

The ARC-Addington Fund has been set up to provide financial help to farmers and kindred businesses affected by FMD. It's administered by the Arthur Rank Centre at the National Agricultural Centre in Warwickshire, mostly by volunteers so at no cost to the Fund. Applications can be made on 024 7685 8347. To date £3.5M has been given, £4.5M raised. Further donations will be gratefully received: call 024 7669 2333 to make a pledge.

Is it not time to stop pretending that this epidemic is over-all for the sake of a few votes

I saw on CEEFAX today that the RSPCA (who have been very quite of late) are trying to intervene over the proposed cull of goats at Great Orme near Llandudno. It is very strange that they have ignored the millions of poor animals who have been culled in this Foot and Mouth madness. I wonder why.

I understand that Greyhound have been running the Epynt site. So are they responsible for burning plastic and has this been a problem elsewhere? What other sites are they running? Does anyone know?

When will the lorries be arriving to remove the ash from the site? They will need to be completely sealed to prevent contamination all over Wales.
