Why does the BBC not provide balanced reporting on the above. It is clear that the NFU only represent 25% of farms and Ben Gill's position is not accepted by a great deal of his own members. Yet they continue to use him as the farmers "representative" We have now slaughtered 2 million animals needlessy. We have created long term problems through infecting water supplies. We are burning cattle infected with BSE releasing prions into the environment that could potentially create a substantial increase in the incidence of CJD. We are polluting the atmosphere and land with potentially dangerous dioxins which are likely to get into the food chain. All this for what is a pretty mild disease which offers no threat to human life. The cost benefit analysis on the cull needs to be put into perspective Graham Burns

I understand that there are 3 new confirmed outbreakes of f+m disease and i am appuled that it is more likley that because of the burying and burning up on epynt that the desease has spread to these farms!. I think that Maff should pull their socks up DRASTICLY before there are no cows/sheep/pigs left . Can you imagine that?

We are now in the sixth day of a major burn - we live 400 metres away from this 200 metre trench! You can see the time - the stench inside the house is appalling ...

We think that what they are doing is desparately wrong and extremely dangerous. They are playing with peoples lives by storing public health problems which will only come to light in the next 18 months onwards. We are also concerned with our own situation on the landfill site at Penhesgyn on Anglesey, though to our knowledge this does not contaminate waterways.

The objective of the operations being untaken by the Uk government is to protect our disease free status of our live stock. What about the disease free status of our children?

the handling of the foot and mouth crisis by the labour party has been a diaster. just what one would expect from a party that does not understand the countryside. the unecessary slaughter was completely unjustifued and without scientific justification.
